圣诞节快乐。。。

5 more sleeps to xmas day and 6 more sleeps to melbourne... the days are dragging... work has been alright last week, 'painful' pts are now gone, and I have been roped in to help out in the inpt rehab ward next week... rehab xmas dinner at panarotti's was good actually, the pizzas and pastas were not bad, but no dessert though... got to sit near to sharon wong, jo, yan and her husband Dr Lee, who is one of the cardiologists who is also from singapore, and he turned out to be really nice and friendly... they must be really wealthy... it will be interesting to see if he would say hello if we do see each other at work... dept xmas lunch was also not bad, alot of desserts, and I got a recipe book and a stationary set from my secret santa... Laura and Kara also came to visit... so Andrew's definitely going in Jan 2015, and we have another new student educator starting in early Jan 2015 as well... still no word as to what is happening with Nat's position though...

other than that, the amazing race final was yesterday, and running man still ongoing, and I am still reading my online books, nothing new or exciting unfortunately...

the siege ended tuesday last week, and 2 people died as a result, really sad... wonder how the cafe is ever going to continue their business and whether the staff will even be able to go back to work, or even whether people will dare to visit that cafe after this happened...

ToO CLoSE to HOme...

Unbelievable... sydney is actually in the midst of a terror attack, and of course, they decided to hold hostages at the lindt cafe at martin place... the terror attack has finally arrived in Australia, after hearing all about these attacks in the US, in Syria, and in London, and it's now finally got close to home... when I first heard about it this am on the wards, my initial thought was no way, just someone spreading rumours that's all, but of course, it is all real, and it's still happening now... so scary... anyone could be there really... hopefully everything will be resolved peacefully...

went to the OT dept xmas dinner at bondi pizza last Friday, the food was not bad, the dessert was the best and the highlight of the meal actually... I actually was not as bored as I thought I would be... had a good time chatting with Liz, Karen, Jamila, El, Alex and Sarah, Elisha and Dasha...

hopefully the rehab dept xmas dinner will be enjoyable too...

work-wise, current batch of patients are a pain in the ass actually...

papa, mum and nainai have confirmed visiting between 8-23 Feb 2015...

MuGGy...

sooo... dunno why, but december for me seems to be a month of misfortunes... 2nd dec... must have hit the off button as opposed to the snooze button and ended up oversleeping and the only reason why I did wake up was becos I needed to pee urgently, so I turned over, looked for my phone and when I saw the time, the first thing I thought was this must be wrong, is it daylight savings?? but then after my brain finally woke up, my eyes popped wide open, and was like HOLY SHIT, it's 0721, and I just woke up!!! needless to say, woke up pongie, dashed around to get ready and was out of the door in 10mins... got to work at 0915 :( had to make up the hours on 2 days this week...

AND... on wed, on the way to work, my tummy suddenly had the feeling of diarrhoea, and the first thing I thought was no freaking way, deja vu, this cannot be happening to me again, and around exactly the same sort of time of the year and maybe even day... luckily I was nearing dural, so decided to swing into hungry jacks, and of course, there has to be slowpokes on the road on that day, I was getting so desperate to release that when I was finally in the toilet, I was literally shaking... and I ended up having to go twice... and becos I did not want to be late again, in the first time since 4years at Nepean, I took the toll way on M7 and got to work on time...

like seriously, I dunno what is it with december, for other people, its looking forward to xmas and presents, but for me all I can ever think of now for 2 consecutive years will be it's a SHITTY time of the year haha :(

anyway, work-wise, nothing very exciting, except we currently have a very troublesome pt and family, and I have no idea what we are going to do with her... otherwise, volunteered to supervise some 1st year students, and also volunteered to help out at rehab over the xmas new year break... and it was Liz's last day today, and from the bits and pieces I overheard, Andrew and Owen may also be resigning soon...

XMAs CounTdOwn StArTs...

hmmm, recap of the past weekend and the roadtrip to bowral, can't believe it's been more than a year since we were there... felt like it was quite recent actually... anyway, drove to ribs and rumps campbelltown for lunch, it was not as good as the north ryde one though... then we proceeded to our accomodation at briars, unfortunately for us, it was stinking hot on sunday like 43 degrees, so despite the aircon being at the lowest already, we had to ring reception for a fan as well... and becos of the hot weather, there were flies buzzing everywhere, and there were dead flies as well on the floor in the room, it was not pleasant...the feel was definitely not the same as when Huimin and I went approx 5 years ago... and becos it was sooo hot, we could not even go explore the garden and the lake... anyway, went to Gibraltar day spa for our massage... finally got to try the vichy shower thing, it was pretty much them rubbing stuff on you first, and then using water to rinse off whilst you are lying flat on the table, so needless to say, there was a mess of water and towels everywhere... definitely not what I expected... but the place was really nice, definitely the next thing to look forward to... breakfast the next day was in one word, BAD! the bacon was hard, the eggs was funny, and there is only so much hashbrowns you can eat at one go... disappointing...

when we came back from the trip yesterday, I decided to do some research into the melbourne trip, and decided to book a 4 days 3 night trip, and massage at a Japanese spa place... and the more I looked into the places we could go... the more I am like... what the hell did Anna and I do when we were there years ago??!! the only thing I remembered was going to the Queen Victoria market actually... hopefully this time it will be ALOT better... just thinking of our accommodation when Anna and I went made me want to puke...

so, yay looking forward to the Melbourne trip, counting down starts to Xmas :)

STinKinG HOt...

haven't blogged for awhile, nothing very exciting atm... did not get the hornsby job, and I have officially turned down the westmead private job offer today... so of course, its looking like I will be stuck at Nepean for awhile... work has been a little boring recently... nothing really to look forward to at work nowadays actually...

what I am really looking forward to is the upcoming roadtrip and massage, it better be good... and then to xmas when we will have a long break, maybe another roadtrip and massage... we'll see... thinking of going to melbourne initially, but its too expensive...

weather-wise, it's been stinking hot these few days, disgusting... no new dramas recently as well, so I have been reading my online books for the past few weeks, so glad that I found this really good website where they have most of the books that I wanted...

FLies ArE BacK... YuCK...

papa and co come and went... on the whole, they were pleasant enough, and the fact that I was working on most days and they usually come home late meant that I do not have interact with them that much, but it was definitely awkward sleeping with someone you don't know... went for dinner on the day they arrived at Ribs and Rumps, and then went for a day trip to Hunter Valley... good weather, had some wine, cheese, and had Takeru for dinner... otherwise, nothing very exciting... the only thing that annoyed me was that there were stuff everywhere and the whole house looked really messy... anyway, after they left, papa and I went to Auburn Home Makers centre thinking to buy the TV unit, but ended up buying 2 rugs for the bedroom...

work-wise... Nat finally started on 2 days and Yin does the other 3 days... it was actually good in the fact that bcos Nat is very experienced, she kind of guides both Yin and I as to what we should be doing with pts... and Rachel will be rotating into MRT from next week... not that I don't want her to come back, but I would prefer that Yin stays in MRT... and my student is finishing up this week, the good thing about student supervision is that yes, you get to explain things aloud and forces you to think abt things and your clinical reasoning, but on the other hand, it's quite limiting in the amt of freedom I have in doing things and can be quite stifling at times... cos things take twice the time to do... and... of course, had a MET call with a patient in the toilet, which was not as bad as our rehab reg happened to be in the room at the time, so it was not that nerve-wrecking, and then of course, decided to take the same pt to the kitchen today, and of course, the same thing happened, and had to hit the MET call button, everyone came rushing over into the tiny kitchen, and I felt quite useless standing there in the corner, not able to get out at the time... this time was more nerve-wrecking cos it was only the patient and the husband there at the time... and there were ALOT of people eventually... now in addition to making me even more wary of getting this patient up, I am probably going to be wary of using the kitchen again... oh and abit of gossip, which truly I am still in shock over... Yin actually likes my student, and she is genuinely upset that he is attached already... and I am there trying my best to console her, whilst I am like... he is way too young, and he is not that great, well to me anyway, but hey, I am judging him from a supervisory perspective... I still am not quite over you know who, time is ticking, and when Jan comes, it is truly time to say goodbye...

job-seeking wise... TACP... did not get the position, the feedback was honest and brutal in fact, I was embarrassed during the feedback cos I actually said that I thought I did better this time... Westmead Private... did not think I did well during the interview, and I was not too impressed with the interview panel... and for some reason, I actually was offered the position, BUT at a lower pay and no salary packaging benefits and I will lose all my leave... so I am most likely going to turn this one down, which hopefully will not come back and bite me on the ass... which brings me to the fact that I am putting all my eggs in one basket, namely Hornsby rehab... and if I don't get the job there, then that's it, I am for sure stuck at Nepean for much much longer... not that I don't like MRT, out of all the other positions on offer, I would still prefer MRT...

闪电打雷。。。

after pongie left on thurs, ate and slept on my own on thurs, and then spent the night over at prisy's, watched resident evil and wanted to watch another movie but the computer was playing up, so ended up watching this new korean drama called nine plus boys, was not bad so decided to download the show and watch...

spent sat with yin, house-hunting, and then went to parramatta westfield for lunch and shopped alittle... spent sun at home, nothing very exciting, read my books, and yin came over at night... went to work together on monday, had to actually hurry home to shower, cook and clean up cos our water was turned off for some repairs that night, so that was interesting... came home and cooked rice, veg and minced pork, watched transformers 2... played cluedo... went to work together on tues, and decided to have dinner at the szechuan place at eastwood... decided that the food there was only good fresh, definitely not nice to eat the next day... yin introduced me to eharmony and we spent most of the night browsing through eharmony and rsvp websites... it was good to get to know yin better, and gossip about work in general...

managed to secure an interview at Westmead TACP tomorrow, so took the half day off, hopefully I will get the job, getting tired of looking for jobs, applying for jobs and the feeling of not being able to focus 100% at work due to this... work-wise, our TA formally withdrew her application, and Frances will be extending her secondment to who knows when... Kara came to visit that day, had chicken schnitzel together, and she also brought along her baby, it was good to see her actually...

weather-wise, it had been pretty hot up until the last 2 days, we had a sudden thunderstorm last night, and the temp has dropped considerably, and there was snow up at Blue MOuntains...

I CAn Feel THe drEAded SummEr iS NEAr...

nothing very much happening in the month of september really... did not get the royal rehab job, but now there's a few job openings coming up, so I have applied for the one at Westmead private, Westmead TACP and now there's also a rehab job at Hornsby Hospital which is probably my first preference followed by TACP. Cross my fingers and toes...

no new shows recently, have been reading my online books, went to watch this movie called Guardians of the Galaxy, and it was so boring, despite the good reviews... our external hard drive finally died on us recently, pongie was lucky to have backed up all her stuff as well as the korean shows, but all my other asian shows have now forever disappeared :(

work wise... it's been really busy recently, now that I also have a student for 7 weeks, and our caseload has really shot up, and there is even a waiting list for MRT at this stage... found out that Kevin will be resigning early next year, and Nat will be coming back to MRT for 2 days of her maternity leave and then the rotating PT will cover the other 3 days... so it will be interesting to see what happens... Sarah resigned as well.. and our new AHA is starting next week, so things are definitely changing around...

went to prisy's birthday celebration that day... went for dinner at randwick at an indonesian restaurant... not nice, and then went for dessert, it was like, indonesian style mang zang kueh... again not nice... and then went to play this room escape game, it was really frustrating for like the first 30mins, and then once we finally got what we were supposed to do, it was quite interesting...so nothing much happening, pongie is confirmed going back home for 3 weeks, and papa's coming to hang out with me for 2 weeks, and then auntie and co are heading to NY for 4 weeks...

and we have been some stupid neighbour smoking some really smelly cigarette and it's polluting the corridor, and into our unit, and the smell has gone onto the bed, pillow etc, and our clothing... SO ANNOYING, tried to ask the management if they could help in some way but they blamed the smell back to our drains... WHAT NONSENSE!!! so now we had to open the room window, on the fan, move the clothing hangar to the other room, and I am sleeping with pongie in the other room now... AGAIN, SO ANNOYING!

StiLL RaiNY and CloUdy...

finally the 2 weeks of reckoning, physical and mental stress has come and gone...

25th- arrival of the parents, did not do much for the rest of the day, they went to visit uncle and auntie whilst pongie and I stayed at home...

26th- Happy Birthday! got some birthday songs and wishes that day, not as satisfying as last year's though, I baked the flourless choc cake, and it was huge success actually, Kara also came for afternoon tea that day and she gave me a set of tools to use at work :) had pizza for dinner that night...

27th- torture, cos I had to fast all day, only drank apple juice for the whole day and a half of the next day... stayed till quite late that day to finish up the handovers, but Karen was really nice about it actually...

28th- day of surgery, the enema what can I say?? I think I did it wrongly, nothing happened... waited for quite awhile for the surgery to commence, once I am in there, a cannular was inserted, and the nurse started inserting god knows what on my head, on my chest, I had to put on TED stockings... and completely naked underneath... then when I am finally wheeled into the operating theatres, there were like approx 6 people hovering over me, and a mask was placed over my mouth and I was unconscious shortly after... when I regained consciousness, it was in recovery, and feeling nauseated, thirsty, and very uncomfortable down there... painful and sore where the catheter was inserted, the constant feeling of wanting to pee, was wheeled to the maternity ward at approx 1600, mum came shortly after, and that's when everyone found out about my BP and insulin problems, and needless to say, the nagging started... was feeling so nauseated that when food came, I took one look and said no... it was some weird looking piece of beef, mashed potatoes, and veg... there was only one other person beside me in the room, and thank goodness they put me in the maternity ward, where it's newer and nicer... but had difficulties sleeping becos of the discomfort from the catheter, the wounds, and the cannular...

29th- felt much better the next day when the catheter was removed, and I could actually sit up properly to have some breakfast... but had to wait for a quite awhile for the gynae to come see me... anyway, basically was told that I also had the polycystic ovarian syndrome, endometriosis and fibroids on the uterus, on top of my BP and insulin problems, and was also informed that the cyst had grown to 15cm when they removed it... the fun never ends... and the gynae also said that the best time to get pregnant is the next 3 months, otherwise it might become difficult in future... I was like yeah sure... I will just go out and find myself a prostitute or a random guy... :( finally was discharged home, actually did a brief detour to do grocery shopping and have lunch... after that, auntie uncle and prisy came to visit in the evening...

30th- went for lunch at crinitis, and then went to eastwood for dinner with auntie and uncle and prisy... and then we hung out at their house for abit...

31st- hunter valley roadtrip! the weather finally cleared up and it became quite warm actually... stopped by irongate winery with recommendations from rennie, peterson's where papa gave us a "lecture" out in the open, thanks papa... he could not have chosen a better place... proceeded to constable estate winery, and finally to the accomodation at H boutique hotel... ok, the 2 bedroom place was so nice and looked like it was new, everything smelt like new... it was soooo nice... and comfortable... everyone settled down, I went for a nap (what else?) and the rest watched a movie, and I suddenly heard pongie screaming there was a mouse running around outside... I was like no freaking way... anyway, could not find the damn mouse in the end, so I rang the reception lady and we moved to another 2 bedroom place, which was so disappointing, becos this place reeked of cigarette smoke and did not appear as clean as the one we were originally in... but what to do... so anyway, settled down again for the second time, and went out for dinner at the blaxland inn... the food was not great actually, the ambience was good in a rustic kind of way...

1st- checked out of the place, and drove back to sydney, and of course, there was an accident on the way back on the pacific highway, and we were stuck there for approx 45mins, people were eventually coming out of their cars and chatting to the neighbouring cars, including papa... finally arrived home, unpacked, rested and then it was out for dinner at ribs and rumps with auntie and co...

2nd- went to hang out at auntie's so mummy could make the pineapple tarts with auntie... had dinner there too...

3rd- 5th- did nothing of significance, did some baking, another flourless choc cake, cookies which turned out disgusting, threw them out actually, and mum made the 冰皮月饼。。。and had a "teary" session with mum, becos she was constantly nagging me about eating sweet stuff and not eating healthily, and I was like, then don't bother bringing so much baking stuff over, so I got upset and started packing up all the baking stuff... anyway... I was feeling quite down that day actually...

6th- can't believe the 2 weeks just flew by... time for mum and papa to return home... went out for lunch with auntie and co at bondi pizza at top ryde... the pizzas were not bad, but I really liked the ambience most... dropped them off at the airport, pongie and I made a quick detour home first before going to auntie's for our weekly running man session... stayed till quite late that day actually cos we followed up with a jet li movie...

sunday, did not do much, did some cooking for the week, and some washing... re-reading my in death and other books... hesitant to start the korean version of fated to love you... the worst thing atm is our hard drive is suddenly playing up, so we started backing up our stuff, however, my videos folder appears to be gone from the hard drive AHHHHH!!! which means no more movies, no more dramas which I downloaded including the taiwanese, HK and singapore dramas! and the videos which I took during the concerts we went to previously... :(

today, went for a job interview at royal rehab... the whole place is quite tucked in, no trains to get there, but the whole facility is still quite new looking... the position is actually in the new private hospital, which really is not a hospital but more like a ward... anyway, undecided if I really want this job, the good thing is that it is much closer to home, and something different... the not good sides are... it's going with the traffic flow in the mornings, and starting times vary between 0700 and 0930, and mainly are neuro caseload rather than general rehab... and after the interview, I felt like I could have done better, oh well... we'll see... anyway, the wound in my navel is now quite red and itchy, still sore but soreness is definitely improving... the other 3 sites appear to be recovering quite well... I am hoping that the itchiness is only temporary... watch this space!

so... pongie is finishing work in first week of oct, and I suggested that she go back to singapore to sort out her medical stuff, and coincidentally, auntie and co are going to NY to visit michelle around the same time as well, which meant that I will be all alone, so papa has decided to come join me for 2 weeks until pongie comes back...

1 YEar beFOre 30...

pongie bought me a new purple samsung galaxy s4 phone... at last! was playing with it the last few days, but really I am not a person who plays stuff on the phone anyway, so all these apps really have minimal interest to me... but now I have a new purple and pink cover phone aka a girly phone :)

work-wise, it's kara's final day at work today, thankfully it was not as hectic and busy, like the last few days... it was crazy busy the last few days actually... but she will be back on tuesday next week to celebrate my birthday with me yay! I still think she is having a boy :) went to this oxfam trivia thing last friday with El and some of the other girls... had pretty much no clue to most of the questions, and it went till pretty late though, but it gave me an opportunity to find out a little bit more about people at work... so Tina and Collette have resigned... El was of course really happy about that, I did not realise how much she really disliked Tina until that day... but I did not know that Sara and Collette also could not get along with each other... so now that the two are leaving, maybe the tension at work may improve, not that it directly impacted on me... the AHA position has been advertised, and I am really hoping that the new AHA that we are getting will be as good as Kara was... my new worries are the opening of the ward N2G and when Nat returns from maternity leave...

finally finished watching 祖先保佑... the start and finishing were much better, it got alittle draggy and annoying in the middle... now I am back to reading my books, no new shows atm except waiting for the korean version of fated to love you to finish...

2 more days before mum and papa arrive, still stressing about how to break the news to them about my BP, and now that the surgery is inching closer each day, I am starting to feel alittle nervous and apprehensive...

祖宗保佑。。。

recently, pongie and I seem to be having alot of health problems, her heavy bleeding with clots similar to my situation back in March, her cold and coughing, my BP problem, and now pongie's hands also like mine, dry, painful, itchy and bleeding... alamak, and then today, also ended up in ED like me... and we both had a sick day off work, and the worse thing was, Karen was going on a HV with me and she actually specially came into work for me despite being sick and there I was, calling in sick today, she was definitely not impressed, and I think she was quite upset today as well, great :(

work-wise, nothing very much happening, things are not too great in rehab in general, cos Kate is off, and so I was helping out alittle as well... MRT wise, thank goodness we have Sam back as our Reg for the next 3 months... and Frances is back as well...

otherwise, Piyo had a baby boy and Amelia also had a baby boy... was reading some online books, but now watching this new singapore drama called 祖宗保佑。。。not too bad actually, funny in the initial parts becos of the 'suagu' ways of the main lead... and also currently, watching the really old chinese drama with zhao wei and nicky wu... 60% serious and 40% funny...

sorry to say this but... dreading the 2 weeks when mum and papa are here :(

身体不健康。。。

world cup is over, now we have to wait for another 4 years for the next world cup in Russia... worked on sunday and went straight to travelodge north ryde for an overnight stay... thinking that I can at least catch the final match on tv and as a backup, they have foxsports... in the end, the tv was small in size and foxsports did not even show the match... but I did stay up for the whole match though... mostly boring especially the first half... and it was 1-0, glad that germany finally won... they definitely played well throughout the tournament...

health wise, more problems, now on top of the levlen, I have to start taking BP tablets, dreading the time when mum and papa visiting, there will be constant nagging... and my dry hands were getting worse, so went to see the GP, whom recommended that I try this soap free wash and moisturiser, which actually helped... but this means bye bye my shokubutsu...

so, went back to parramatta westfield last week to change the workshoes, ended up buying a more expensive pair of shoes, and it squeaks on the left side, so embarrassing, but no choice, don't think I could go back and swap again now that I have worn it so many times...

work-wise, nothing much happening, now that Kara's maternity leave is fast approaching, things are falling apart in Wii therapy and UL group... our Reg is driving me nuts seriously, counting down to the day she leaves actually and hopefully we will get someone better... Yin's back from her Europe trip, she did not seem very enthusiastic about her trip actually... weather problems, and she indicated Paris was her least favourite one, and London was her favourite... did not get the senior rehab position at ryde hospital :(

FRoZen...

world cup wise... so far we have currently arrived at the quarter finals, countries are brazil, columbia, costa rica, germany, france, belgium, argentina, holland... hmmm, holland definitely has a good chance to take the cup... so annoying that I do not get to watch the games live...

work-wise, same old, nothing exciting happened... fairly busy, but manageable, but haven't had much movement lately, so it's a bit dry atm...

last week, went to parramatta to get my brakes looked at, then we walked to westfield parramatta, and the plan was to buy myself a good pair of workshoes, and ended up spending ALOT of money on clothes and a pair of workshoes, but unfortunately the shoes, even though the shoes were exactly the same brand and type as my last one, it hurt my toes after wearing it to work that day, so anyway, bought myself a Review dress (finally!) and a trench coat from Portmans... urggh... big hole in my pocket atm... and also, we have decided to stay overnight at Hunter valley again when mum and papa are here... new boutique hotel near one of the wineries, so hopefully its good...

drama wise, boring... so really just re-reading books and rewatching some old shows... went to watch transformers 4 last week, it was 3 hours long, the special effects were also quite good, but I still preferred the first movie...

weather wise... it's been freezing in the mornings, today the temp outside at Penrith was a freezing low of 1 degree... it was so cold that there was frost on the grass... and now that the fence went up at the crossing, I have to walk to the traffic lights and cross that way, and enter the building via the staff cafeteria...

ALmoST TO EOFY...

sooo, had my follow up gynae appt on thurday last week, finally the decision has been made for me to undergo surgery to remove the cyst that has been festering in there for the last few years... and surgery date has been confirmed to be on 28 aug... which coincides with mum and papa's visit... I am more worried abt the 'after' effects of the surgery, no driving for a week, get to have 2 weeks off work, but the worse thing is I have to have an IDC inserted... OMG!!! :( and then my BP is up again, so the GP wants me to restart the damn pills...

otherwise, still following the highlights of the world cup faithfully everyday, spain, england, australia (of course!), are out, the only team which has won every match during the group phase atm is holland, and pongie and I have decided to stay overnight at travelodge north ryde on the sunday so we can stay up to watch the match, but pongie could only take the half day... no new nice dramas, so reading my online books still...

workwise, nothing very exciting, applied for this senior rehab position at ryde hospital, yet to hear back, I am half hoping to get the job, really want to leave nepean and try something different and closer to home, but on the other hand, I dunno if I am up to this position in a new environment as well... oh well, we'll see what happens... fairly busy at work, yin's on her 4 week europe trip so kirti is covering on some days only... which is ok for me... oh and I saw Janelle from Restart again this week, I think we are quite 有缘 actually, cos since I have been working at Nepean for the past 3.5 years, I have bumped into her 3 times already... anyway, she told me that Restart no longer existed, apparently it was bought over by Recovre, and so she is now working for them at Parramatta...

weather-wise, it has been pretty chilly and windy recently...

老友拜仿。。。

soooo, there continues to be a few shocked world cup matches recently, german beat portugal 4-0, and australia is playing holland tomorrow am, I bet 7-0, guess which team is 0 haha... anyway, my dilemma now is that on finals day, I have nowhere near by to watch the match live, so thinking of staying overnight somewhere, and the nearest and cheapest is at macquarie, or just watch it at the cinemas... but pongie can only take a half day off that day... alamak, which means that there is no point in us staying overnight anyway...

finally finished watching the angel eyes, ok, I have to say this again, Lee Sang Yoon is so good-looking, happy ending of course, but I wished that they showed them actually getting married, oh well, at least some parts of the finale were cute...

sooo, had monday and tuesday off this week, met up with fran and her friends at rockdale in the morning for lebanese bread... drove to stanwell lookout, the weather was so good that day, windy but sunny and nice... then headed to kiama, the blowhole and waves that day was truly the best I have ever seen in all the times I was there... took alot of pictures and videos... had dominos pizza for lunch... spent quite awhile there, and then we drive up to saddleback mountain lookout point, on the way down, suddenly smelt burning tyres smell, and I started panicking a little... but we checked everything, and hyungie seemed fine, so it was concluded that maybe it was burning shit smell... after that, drove to campbelltown for ribs and rumps... the whole place was pretty quiet though... it was freezing cold that night though... after that, one of fran's friends drove back to bondi, it was a looong drive back... did a little tour of their apartment, it was not too bad, but location wise, urggh...

tuesday... fran caught a train to our place, cooked her korean noodles, chatted for awhile before we headed to takeru for lunch, and she started her shopping spree at target... and then drove to birkenhead point for more shopping, I did not buy anything, simply becos there was either no sizes for me or too expensive... spent quite awhile there... after that, went back to bondi and waited for the rest to return, and we decided to takeaway ogalo's for dinner... that's pretty much it for meeting up with fran, they are heading to the hunter valley on thurs, and staying overnight, before driving to blue mountains on friday, and staying overnight, and then heading straight to the airport... was quite upset when jo and huimin decided not to visit sydney and did not even bother telling me... I found out through fran...

back to work for one day, and then I have the gynae and GP appt on thurs...

AnGeL EYes...

world cup fever has arrived, finally!!! sad thing is of course, not able to watch the games live, due to the stupid time difference and no TV, but its ok, and I just found out that, coincidentally, I have scheduled my ADO on the world cup finals day, hahaha!!! well planned andrea :) shocked that holland beat spain, defending world cup champions 5-1 today, but not surprised at all that australia lost... holland definitely has a very high chance of winning the cup this year if they continue to play at this level... but watch out for germany I would say... stay tuned...

finally watching my angel eyes drama, melodramatic for sure, but I thought it was pretty good acting by the 2 main leads, I think I am slightly obsessed by Lee Sang Yoon now... he is so good looking, especially with his dimpled smile... 2 more episodes to go this weekend...

and fran finally arrived today, got a text msg from her, decided not to have dinner today, mainly becos I thought it was raining, and also I feel lazy, but definitely going on a roadtrip to Kiama with them on monday, and maybe hang out with them on tuesday as well...

went to try this fried chicken place at eastwood today, not bad, I especially liked the fact that it is boneless, and there is also a new store opened that sells pre-packed korean side dishes...

OLe OLe oLe...

work-wise, still busy, reducing my caseload in rehab, becos they wanted me to help out in acute, however, I have not been able to manage the MRT caseload and we are still getting new referrals here and there, hence not been able to help acute at all... Yin seems ok, worked with her twice last week becos Kara was off sick... one of the girls has gone on maternity leave, and apparently a locum replacing her will be starting next friday... and found out that Laura's water broke, hence she will remain in hospital for the next 3 months until the birth of her baby...

otherwise, last sat, pongie's birthday, went to have korean buffet at lidcombe, we were both stuffed after, and on sun, went to macquarie to watch Xmen, which I personally thought it was excellent, I will rate it 10/10... the special effects and the plot were great... Hyungie's giving me some trouble recently, found out that Kia at Waitara has ceased trading, which means that I can no longer access free carwash or vacuum after dec 2014... and the closest dealerships were either castle hill or parramatta... pain in the ass... still reading my online books, and have been downloading the angel eyes, heard that it's now really melodramatic, my next target drama will be seunggi's drama called you're surrounded... Anna rang last week and informed me that everyone at ADHC was told to find another job as the organisation is ceasing sooner than anticipated, hence she was asking information about working in the hospital... but I was thinking to myself, this means that there will be more competition in the jobseeking market crap!

after 3.5 years, finally went back to lewisham on the way to the petersham portugese chicken place today to eat... the re-start consulting sign is still there, which means that the company is still in existent, and everything looked the same from the outside... the portugese chicken burger and chips were better than nandos I thought, but I dunno that I will drive approx 45mins to and from just to eat that...

weather wise, it is gradually getting colder actually, and had rained for abit last few days as well... looking forward to my world cup next week!

冬天去了哪儿??

sooo, the hunter valley roadtrip finally came and went... left in the morning at approx 0900, stopped by macdonalds for some food, and arrived at hunter valley at approx 1100... went to a few wineries and spent quite alot of money on wine... de bortoli, peterson's, scarborough, mcguigans, hungerford... finally it was time to check in, mercure resort was not as good as I expected... it was alright... the room was alright... we had some time to spare before it was time for the massage... actually regretted making the appt so late in the day, cos it did not occur to me that when we finish the massage, it would be dark and there are no streetlights there... and it was up on a hill, so definitely learnt my lesson there... the spa place was really nice, however, the actual package was not as good as the tea tree spa we went to a long time ago... pretty much spent the whole time reading the online books when we arrived back in the room... breakfast... the good thing was it was not crowded at all... food was alright, standard bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, hot choc... juice... ate till we were stuffed... went for a little walk to hunter valley gardens shopping village and bought some cookies to try... and after that, had time to kill  before it was time to check out and make our way home... and back to reality... fortunately or unfortunately... what happened on friday was that I noticed screeching sounds when I am braking, and also noticed that one of the tyres looked flat, which got me worried... and so I quickly went to change the tyres on sat, and booked a car service for today, hence I am slacking at home today instead of being back to work...

other than that, still reading my online books, and patiently waiting for the show angel eyes to end... fran whatsapped me last night, showing me a pic of her boyfriend, and shocked me further by telling me that she has already his family and bought couple rings... she must really be quite desperate... was all I could think of... but she looked happy so hopefully things turn out well for her... other than that... nothing much interesting happening, looking forward to fran and jo visiting in june, then papa visiting in aug but also maybe june... and I decided that our next roadtrip will be to bowral in oct, gibraltar hotel and spa... so going to have to start saving up now... one week till winter and it's still warm, like 26 degrees, crazy...

超忙的。。。

did not get the job at mona vale hospital in the end... applied for another job at westmead private rehab, so we'll see if I even get an interview... it was actually pretty helpful that I sat down with Jamila that day to review my application, and get some feedback, and I actually thought that she gave me alot of useful feedback, and that meant that I did not waste my time on the application, cos I got some really good feedback in the end... the goalsetting inservice went quite well actually, and I think it's becos it was a small group that day, and people that I actually am more comfortable with, hence I was actually not that nervous and was able to generate some good discussion and also manage to make it interesting... so I was quite pleased about that... caseload wise, it's still quite hectic, but the numbers are gradually reducing, which is good... to give me some time to get on top of things with the existing patients... one grumble that I do have from this week is... our new rehab reg is useless, she has no freaking idea about anything!!! Rachel and I are sooo frustrated, john and sam were so much better! another grumble that I also have is, now that deanna is pretty much based in rehab, she kind of forgot that I do not spend all my time there, and I think she assumes that I know what is going on and that I have to keep her in the loop with the rehab patients, which she did not mention in the first place and so I did not know that she wanted me to do that, anyway, it was just a little annoying... and I think mid-week I must look quite annoyed and stressed to people, that some of them have come up and asked me if I was alright... and am thankful for people around that encouraged and just asked whether things were ok... rarely saw my motivation lately, I guess we have all been quite busy and working in different places... new PT rotating into MRT next week, have not worked with Yin before, so it should be interesting... really dreading when Kara goes on maternity leave, and I think I have mentioned this at least 3 times prior already...

otherwise, my amazing race is ending next week, running man is still ongoing, and I sooo frustrated at having to wait for the angel eyes drama to finish in june, cos I am sooo very tempted to start the show, but I know what's going to happen if I fall into that trap again... urgghhhh...

our roadtrip seems to be sooo far away... really looking forward to having a break and recharging the batteries...

HapPEniNG ALL aT ONCe...

work is still very hectic, up until yesterday, I had 12 patients... and it seems that everything is happening this week. Had my first ever guardianship hearing today, it went for 2 hours and I actually was 'sabo'ed by dear old SW on the East block to speak during the hearing and having to answer some challenging questions, damn her! nevertheless, told myself that it was a good learning experience at the end of the day, and the outcome was what we wanted... the bad news is... I will still have to remain involved until the patient is d/c at this stage...oh and Jamila told me that they are no longer advertising for the senior position in rehab now, now that Jo is apparently returning from maternity leave in June and Deanna seems to be basing herself in rehab nowadays... anyway, at this stage, I don't really care, other than the fact that I wasted time working on my application for that stupid expression of interest... hoping to get the job at mona vale or maybe the one at westmead private, we'll see...

received an email yesterday advising that I have been given an opportunity for an interview for the level 1/2 position at mona vale, unfortunately, they did not give very much notice and basically said the interview is happening the day after, which I am not able to just drop everything and take leave, so I was given the option of a phone interview instead, which I took, but now, the manager still did not confirm whether we are going ahead with the phone interview tomorrow, which means that I have to ring her up tomorrow to find out, so irritating...

my goalsetting inservice is finally here on friday, hopefully everything will go well... will update again... did not get to do a practice run like karen and I spoke about during supervision, but we'll see... bought some choc for reward which is a bribe actually, for people at the inservice to be nice and not ask so many questions (and yes, I am referring to the consultants and Dr Chu, in particular)...

it's freezing cold nowadays in the mornings and at night, I had to take both my work and outing jacket and coat out this year...

CHANginG SeaSOns and PeoPLe...

finally may has arrived, soooo looking forward to the roadtrip... weather is slowly becoming cold especially in the mornings and at night...

thursday before anzac friday, day off, went to chatswood to get the will done, and then went to have the malaysian food, ordered the curry puff and the milo dinosaur, even though it's quite expensive, but I really like the food there... after that, went to auntie's to pick nainai up...

anzac friday... it was looking very cloudy, so we pretty much stayed at home for most part of the morning and went grocery shopping at hornsby... anzac sat, brought nainai to featherdale wildlife park at blacktown... not bad, quite a small park but it's quite elderly friendly and it's mostly small australian animals and birds... went for lunch at castle towers, had nandos... and then brought nainai back to auntie's... worked on sunday and that was the end of the long weekend...

back to work, it's been really hectic these few days, still covering in rehab as well... but acute has also been really busy, now that they are down to 4 pple and tina's on leave this week as well... and also just found out that there was an issue with John's contract so he can no longer work at nepean... and rachel is rotating end may instead, and PT Sarah has resigned... which meant that when Yin goes on leave in June, there may not be a relief...

saw this job opening for a level 1-2 and a senior position at mona vale inpt rehab, and I told karen that I am applying for the job, and she suggested that I apply for both actually... so we'll see if I actually get the job... although when I rang up the person, she was not very helpful and did not sound nice over the phone...

nainai, auntie and uncle are leaving for singapore on monday... can't believe 6 months just flew by...

BYe BYE Easter BUnnY... HellO AnZac WeekENd...

Easter weekend came and went... easter friday... stayed at home most of the day, went for a jog/walk in the morning, then pretty much rewatched some shows and then went over to auntie's to have dinner and pick nainai up... easter sat... went to lidcombe korean buffet for lunch with the uni girls... all came except amelia... personally, I thought the price was quite reasonable but the food is only ok, alot of varieties, it's just me being fussy... dropped pongie and nainai off at rhodes ikea... and then we went grocery shopping after... easter sunday... went for another jog/walk again... and then went to the movies for spiderman 2... I loved it actually, really thought this series was much better than the first ones... and the characters were alot better as well... actually had tears in my eyes towards the end when the little boy stepped up pretending to be spiderman and stood against the villain... next movie on the list... xman, followed by possibly transformers... still cannot decide if we should go to the movies for how to train your dragon 2...

easter monday... roadtrip to temple, started early, detoured to the lebanese bakery at banksia... it was sooo good, fresh and yummy lebanese bread... and then drove to the temple, was not as crowded, apparently not allowed to eat inside the temple grounds, so we ended up eating our packed sandwiches along the way... and then decided to detour to wollongong town centre... the town was pretty dead, maybe becos it was the hols or becos the town centre was under renovations... but we ended up in this waffle cafe... not bad, still preferred the lebanese bread... and after that, detoured again to bankstown central, just for a quick break, cos I was getting sleepy... it was crowded there though... not a place I would be voluntarily going again if I had a choice...

and back to work for 2 days before the anzac long weekend, but working on sunday this week... and remember how I was talking about the website where you can download free ebooks, well they shut it down :( and so I started playing the sims 3 game on pongie's laptop... and becos of the korean ferry sinking incident, still no broadcasting of any korean dramas or variety shows atm...

吃太多巧克力会。。。

still no new dramas to watch, so rewatching old shows... boring... one drama I am anticipating is called angel eyes with goo hye sun, the preview looks quite good, but have to wait until June...

work-wise, nothing much, still covering down in rehab, who knows when andrew is coming back... still busy in MRT, and Frances has just left for a 3 month secondment up at BMDH... sharon wong's returned from maternity leave... and we will have a new PT come May... and Millie's last day is next week, so we had a farewell dinner at this steak restaurant at panther's called Osso yesterday night... did not like the chicken which I ordered, and it turned out to be quite expensive too...

easter long weekend has finally arrived... yes!!! went for an easter egg hunt after work today at hornsby, the eggs were still quite expensive, and I think I pretty much spent more than $100 just on easter eggs alone... after this easter/anzac holiday period, next thing to look forward to is our hunter valley trip in May... and then Fran and Jo are visiting in June... and then quiet for a while, followed by my birthday month, and papa might be coming... oh and found out through Nat during dinner that night that Amelia is pregnant! OMG!

WELcomE EasTER BUnny...

weather check- has been pretty hot this week but now it's raining and looks like maybe autumn is finally setting in... yay!

but damn it, can't sleep, so here I am blogging in the middle of the night at like 0300...

all bcos of work... so the interview for the rehab senior was postponed, cos Andrew is on sick leave atm, and as far as I know, there were only ANdrew and I going for the position... so anyway, what's happened, is that there is only Kate in rehab, so deanna, karen and I are chipping in to help in rehab atm, indefinitely until Andrew returns... so which means I am looking after both MRT and following the pts down to rehab... it's been quite busy on MRT recently, which does not help... and the fact that I don't have Kara down in rehab helping me do therapy... procrastinating on my goalsetting inservice preparation... really looking forward to easter holidays and may roadtrip... I really need a break to recharge my batteries... also, found out who will be rotating into PT in may... yin is ok, have not really worked with her before... but I was kinda hoping it would be sarah instead... and it will be interesting to see what happens when kara goes on maternity leave in august...

otherwise, no new dramas, but I did find a website where you can download a limited number of online books each day... which is pretty good, cos I get to read and keep those that I like, without having to buy and take up space on the shelf...

WHEn is Easter COminG??

my stupid heavy clotting period came again on wednesday night, and so I was off on sick leave again, and tried to call the gynae clinic to see if I could see the gynae earlier, but of course not, so in the end, went to the gp to get medication to take first, and I have to say, the medication works, no more bleeding since I started the tablets... and I was meant to go to the rehab forum on friday, but decided to go to work instead cos I felt guilty, so I cancelled the study leave... and then next thursday I am off on sick leave again to see the gynae, alamak... and received the email asking me to go for an interview for the inpt rehab senior position, after what I heard about what's happening in the rehab area, in addition to what I already know, really undecided if I really want to be in the position, anyway, I will just do my best and if I get it, it's only for a short term, and if I don't, well, I am still in MRT and doing rehab... oh, and also, so many people in the dept are pregnant atm, and almost leaving on mat leave around the same time... nicole left already, laura, kate, new grad jessica and kara... it would be interesting to see what happens then when we are back to the short staffed situation again...

anyway, finished watching 'you who came from the stars'... it's funny, especially the female lead, and sad at certain parts of the show, however, I just don't feel the chemistry between the 2 leads, dunno if it's cos of the age difference or I dunno, I just don't feel that it's as good as the 'master's sun', I actually thought master's sun was much better... also, started watching 'mei le jia you' as well, but stopped halfway cos it was becoming a bit melodramatic, and I was so very tempted to start 'you who came from the stars'... and I also went to buy and finished reading the new in death book, which I was very disappointed with, cos it was pretty boring... and so, now, no more new shows to watch, and will probably start watching some old shows again..

weather check- it's still quite hot even though it's technically autumn now...

NEw ExpErieNcE...

work has been relatively manageable up until monday this week... and then for some unknown reason, on monday evening after I came home, my period started heavy flowing, with clotting like every 10mins, and every time I sit or stand it gushes out... it was really stressful actually... so the whole night, I barely slept, and so I decided to take a sick day off on tuesday, which was probably wise, cos it was still going in the morning, and I could only see the GP at 1045am... so I waited and worked on my application for the senior rehab job for 3 months... and then once I got to the GP, I waited for approx an hour before I could see the GP, and was told that I should probably check myself into Emergency at Hornsby Hospital... which was not at all what I expected... I thought I would just go get an ultrasound and then take some medication... so anyway, walked to the bus terminal to catch a bus to hornsby hospital... and got to Emergency at approx 1200, presented the referral, and was told to wait for a triage nurse to see me... and I was seen at approx 1215, the nurse asked some questions and then brought me into the emergency ward, where I was assigned bed number 14, told to put on the hospital gown and wristband... which meant that I had to use the bathroom and there was no place to put my stuff, and of course, knowing what goes on probably in those bathrooms, I really did not want to put my stuff on the shower chair... so anyway, changed into the hospital gown, and laid/sat there to wait for the doctor, who saw me in approx 30mins, took some blood, stuck a cannular in my right arm, they wanted a urine sample, but for some reason, I could not pass any urine at all, and then they just placed the urine sample bottle on the table, gross especially knowing what goes on in the process of collecting the urine... yuck...

and then after that, was more waiting for my ultrasound at 1515... tried sleeping but could not becos of the lights, the noise, people walking around, and everyone seeing what you are doing... so about 1500, I was told that I could be moved to the short stay ward, and I had to go in a w/c, hospital policy... and then 1515 came and went, nobody came and got me for the ultrasound, until approx 1600, and I was busting to pee, cos I had to drink 1.2L of water... finally had the ultrasound, and it was alittle bit uncomfortable, besides having someone pressing on my full bladder, it was also a male sonographer... and then was wheeled back to the ward, where more waiting happened... and then finally at approx 1730, the gynaecologist came and told me everything was clear with the ultrasound except for the cyst which I know abt, other than that, everything looks fine, except my BP was pretty high... and for me to follow up in the outpt gynae clinic... and so I was d/c at 1800, and then I took a bus back home... and of course, once I was in hospital, the clotting stopped... no choice, but to let both elinor and karen know what happened... told mum as well, but did not tell auntie and nainai...

and I got the doctor to write me an MC for 2 days, but I felt alittle guilty, so decided to go back to work today, which was probably a wise decision, becos when I got to work, people were actually glad to see me, hopefully in a good way, and was told that frances and rachel were quite stressed yesterday becos of some miscommunication in between the registrars, and so we were not aware of the new referrals... and so all the new referrals came at the same time and some were pretty heavy apparently... and so this am, karen was like rachel came and saw here before 0800 asking if I was coming back to work today... and then I sent a text page to both frances and rachel, and rachel rang and she sounded quite stressed and teary on the phone... and so I was wondering what happened, my first thought was patient-related, but when I got up on the ward... turns out she was just stressed by all the new referrals and not being able to see all of them... which was fair enough, cos one patient in particular was quite heavy... so needless to say, things were quite tense in rehab today, cos I walked into the case conference room today and everyone was there, and the atmosphere felt really tense...

so anyway, rang the gynae clinic and was told that the earliest appt is on 20 march thursday am, and karen was not that happy cos I have an ADO on friday, so she suggested either I go back to work in the pm which is stupid, or I reschedule my ADO, like duh... it's a no-brainer... and there is currently a bet going on that Kara is pregnant... which would be interesting when she actually goes on maternity leave... oh and with the temp senior inpt rehab position coming up, there was also some tension in the office on monday, cos apparently Deb offered to help out in rehab, but Jamila asked me to, but of course, I won't be able to now cos of the influx of new referrals, but don't think Deb was too happy abt this... so El was telling me that there will be a few interested candidates for the position, namely Deb, Alex, Andrew and possibly Deanna... hmmm... we'll see...

回到现实。。。

11th Feb-  met up with realreal and silvana for dinner at bishan junction 8... and of course realreal is pregnant, and due in april!!! and it's a baby girl :) had subway for dinner whilst waiting for silvana... and then realreal left shortly after silvana arrived cos she was not feeling well, and silvana and I went to hunt for ice cream and chatted for quite a while...

12th Feb- went for a haircut at boon keng station... and it felt weird to have a male hairdresser actually, touching and washing my hair... after that, went to fetch mum at work, and we went to IMM for dinner, and I had roti prata, which was really nice and fresh yummy! and sundae after... and then papa gave me a lift to buona vista where I met up with jo, huimin and fran for karaoke again at NTU... all of us agreed that 2 hours definitely not enough, we were pretty much rushing through the songs and only singing a few lines towards the end... and after sat outside and chatted for awhile...

13th Feb- finally took a bus down to far east plaza to do some shopping, bought myself some new tops, and a bag at wisma isetan... wanted to eat long john silvers but did not manage to find an outlet eventually... met up with mum for dinner at macdonalds double fillet-o-fish yummy! and iced lemon tea! at great world city, and shopped alittle whilst waiting for dinner with Mel... went to shop at Zara, and they were having a sale, and there were quite a few nice tops, went to try them on and some I could not even fit my head through... that's how disgustingly small the sizes were :( finally met up with Mel for dinner at this gourmet pizza place, and she was still the same, pretty much spent the whole night complaining of her poor work life balance, and not having a life... although it seems like June will be a busy month but hopefully fun month as well, cos Jo, Huimin, Fran and Mel are all coming to visit that month... yay!!!

14th Feb- day of my leaving :( went out for lunch with uncle jeffrey at city square mall, decided to have lunch at seoul garden... not nice, and it definitely did not help that my stupid period decided to reappear on the day that I am leaving, sense of deja vu anyone???!!! and so I was going to the toilet multiple times, and the stupid toilet at city square mall actually regurgitated when I tried to flush and all the water spilled onto the floor... thank god it was clean water, otherwise it will not be pretty! after that, papa and I caught a bus down to orchard central for coldstone ice cream... walked around the shops there, the thing is... they have some very unique clothing stores there, but all out of my affordability range... after that, we caught a bus home, and went for dinner with mum at Nex... as expected it was so crowded, probably becos it was valentines day... i finally got to eat long john silvers, and it was such a disappointment... just did not taste nice... shopped around for abit as well... and then went home to watch some movies to pass the time... watched the wolverine movie, not very nice actually, and then moved on to this jackie chan police movie, and I fell asleep about 1/4 into the show... oh and received an email in the afternoon saying that my flight was delayed for 2 hours hence we left the house at approx 0130, and then when we were on the way to the airport, received another email saying that the flight was further delayed by an hour, but there was no way we could have turned around to go home, so we ended up checking in really early, had macdonalds again for supper, and just sat around the airport... finally it was time to say goodbye, felt really stoned, and did not realise that I should not fill my water bottle prior to checking into the waiting lounge, hence I ended up having to finish a whole bottle of water... and having to go to the toilet approx 10 times in the first few hours of the flight... and to make things worse, there was a medical emergency mid flight, and they were calling for any medical personnel... and then received an annoucement saying that the plane had to be re-routed to Perth to unload this passenger for medical treatment... so we landed in Perth, but not allowed to get out of the plane, not even allowed to stand up and stretch really... and we were there for almost an hour before taking off again for Sydney... and so by the time I finally landed I had probably spent approx 12 hours flying... could not really sleep well either cos of the general airsickness (although I did not take the ginger tablets cos I was so bloated from all that water), and this stupid person in front of me again tilting his chair so far backwards, and having a person sit next to me... and occasional turbulence... finally arrived in Sydney at approx 2000 on sat night, had to queue up for quite awhile at customs, but thank god I went straight through quarantine... so finally got back home, showered and had a good sleep... unpacked the following day, went for dinner with auntie and them at this chinese restaurant at chatswood which was not very nice at all... and it's back to work :(

1st day back at work... of course everyone who knew I was on leave started asking abt my hols, how was it, how does it feel to be back etc... and apparently found out through Kara, that during the 3 weeks I was away, MRT only had like 1 pt a week, man that would kill me... the new PT Rachel seemed ok, but probably alittle inexperienced? John stayed for another 6 months, which is good and that he would be solely looking after MRT pts in addition to supervising the new regs, and clinics... 2 new grads started in the acute office, and Andrew moved to rehab to help out... wonder what's going to happen in rehab when nicole goes off on maternity leave in march?? Rennie actually scared me when he msged me saying that I would have to do lymphoedema... which got me thinking that I might have to go back to cancercare to cover for Kate when she leaves, no freaking way!!! I will resign if I have to wait with the evil person for another day :( did not get to see you know who until wednesday when it was pouring so heavily in the afternoon, waved at a distance, and the following morning, but yet to speak...  its not avoidance is it??? what did I do?? so now, survived the first week back at work, and truly it felt like I have always been at work, what holidays??!!! I am already looking forward to easter and June and our planned roadtrip...

WisH tiME Would StoP...

5th Feb- did not do much during the day, went to meet up with jo and fran at tanjong pagar to 'jog' to gardens by the bay... ok it was far, but they jogged slowly becos of me and by 3/4 of the way, I was already walking and breathless... although I have to say, there were quite alot of people also jogging along there, the scenery is really nice, especially at night... so we finally arrived at satay by the bay, where we had satay of  course and chai tau kuey for dinner... before walking back to tanjong pagar, had a little pitstop at the children's playground and it was really nice there, there was a water feature and reclining seats and music... jo's workplace is really nice too, with nice clean toilets and shower facilities... so we had a quick shower and jo's sister gave me a lift home after...

6th Feb- the curse of eating all the good and heaty food... woke up with a brewing sore throat and runny nose... and today was the day that huimin and I were going to the aquarium... decided to go ahead cos we already bought the tickets... met up with huimin at harbourfront, where we caught a bus into resorts world, and from there, walked to the aquarium... the whole place was swarming with china tourists and playing CNY music in the background... the aquarium was really nice, my fav would definitely be the ocean viewing aquarium... huimin and I sat there taking pics and getting excited by all the different fishes... and there was also a little pond where you could touch the smaller fishes... an amusing dialogue I heard between the staff member and a china tourist was- (in mandarin) tourist- eh can we take the fish out?? staff- of course not, this is not a market! haha... huimin kept calling the tourists 'ah tiongs" and they were really annoying at times actually, blocking the exhibits for so long... after that, we had dinner at macdonalds and finally got to try the new nacho cheese fillet o fish... I still preferred the original one and said the same to huimin... by then, my cold was gradually worsening, we decided to take the boardwalk back to vivocity, and it was actually quite a nice and 'romantic' walk back becos of the lights along the way... huimin and I took alot of pics that day :) but unfortunately, bcos I was progressively becoming more blocked in the nose and coughing and sneezing every 10mins... I decided to cancel the dinner with the girls on friday...

7th Feb- however, despite saying that though, as papa says, sometimes you have to "以毒攻毒“。。。 which was what I did by having prata for breakfast in the morning... !!!! so we went to henderson for prata, and unfortunately I did not order fresh ones, and the lady mixed up the orders hence I ended up eating some egg pratas which were not nice at all... and then at night, went to meet up with mum at wisma to buy pongie's dress, and then took a slow walk to orchard central (nothing much there, and compared to the other shopping malls, it's really quiet), and then to PS, where we had swensens (yummy!!!) I got to eat both the 49ers and fish and chips and the choc malt ice cream! and we bought alot and I mean ALOT of disposable panties from John Little... and also bought myself a wallet from charles and keith finally! actually preferred the white and silver one but knew that it would become dirty really quickly so settled from a red one...

8th Feb- river safari day trip with huimin and fran... thank goodness we got there early, and managed to get tickets to the first boat ride... and even being really early, there were already alot of people there, both locals and tourists... the boatride was nothing fantastic and it was really short like 10mins... and if you missed out on the animals, there was no way to go back and see them again...  and most of them were like ether hiding or sleeping somewhere hidden... after that, we toured around the place, it was not very big, but there were already massive crowds everywhere, and the queues for the panda and boatride was so long, we were like thank goodness we were early and we actually went the opposite way in the panda enclosure  accidentally, and only realised that when we saw the long queues outside... and it was sooo hot and humid that day... my fav one was probably the dugongs, we spent quite some time in there, partly also becos it was air conditioned... after that, caught the bus back to choa chu kang where we had macdonalds for lunch again, this time we had the double fillet o fish... yummy! and after that we just shopped around and then home... and then had a short nap, before it was the buffet dinner downstairs, and uncle david and jeffrey came along for the dinner as well... nothing was nice actually... and there was no ice cream this year :(

9th Feb- went to pasir ris to meet up with 8th uncle for breakfast, it was meant to be my treat, but of course, he paid for everything... felt like a pig after, ate prata, mang zhang kuey, hum jin bang, and drank milo... after that, went to Giant supermarket to look for a weighing machine... and after that papa dropped us off at pasir ris shopping centre, where we walked for abit and then took a train to aljunied to visit the temple there, it was sooo hot and sweaty again... and becos I ate so much during breakfast, my tummy suddenly ached so badly that I had to pause mid praying to go to the toilet... thank goodness the toilet was relatively clean in the temple...  after that, came back home and had dinner at home that night...

10th Feb- stayed at home during the day, and found a website which could DL movies, which also has some korean dramas... skyped a little while with nainai, and prisy, and then caught a train to tiong bahru to walk for abit, did not find any nice clothing, but bought the hairband and some pimple cream, and for some reason, there is a greater variety of pimple cream here as compared to sydney, and finally ate my tutu... had to resort to holding the tutu with one hand and taking a pic with the other hand all whilst standing in a corner... and then caught a train to buona vista to meet with siti and veena... and of course, they were not aware that my phone does not have internet outside, so apparently they have been trying to whatsapp me, and all the while I was waiting at the station for them... so in the end, after approx waiting 30mins, I rang siti and found out that they were also waiting and trying to whatsapp me... so in the end, our dinner was cold, we were late for ktv, and had to climb all the way up to this NTU building on a small hill where the ktv was... the room was quite small but the price was quite reasonable if you are with a big group... so we were mostly singing english songs that night, and there were alot of weirdass songs out there which I did not even hear before... so we actually stayed there for approx 2 hours and then siti wanted to introduce us to her husband so we met up with him at the station... and then reminisced about NJC for awhile... well... it was nice to look back and laugh about that 2 years in my life but still think that other than the friendships, those 2 years were a total waste of my life and time...
