A reViEw...

aiyo, long time never blog again... all bcos of this chinese show i am watching... called "xian jian qi xia zhuan"... a collaboration between hong kong, taiwan and singapore... it's actually taken from an online game, but the computer graphics effects were really bad... got bryan wong, guo liang and fu fangling, from channel u...
i have to say that, although the show is so long-winded, it's really good, but it's a sad ending, the acting made up for the bad cg effects... alot of pple say that the main actor is cute, but i prefer the other male character...
i have been going to amelia's house to watch the show, cos the file's too big, and she has the external hard drive... so everytime, both of us just sit in front of her laptop, eat junk food, and cook noodles for lunch... quite fun though... but i felt bad for always going to her house and then she has to clean up...

that's what i have been doing for the past two weeks, and now it's the second last wk of holidays, and i dun feel like going back to uni... so lazy...
whoa, u noe yesterday i started work at 7am, so early! and by 2pm, i was already dead tired, kept yawning nonstop, i really felt that my spirit has left my body, and i was just scanning the items automatically...
yesterday, went to watch fantastic 4, finally! the ending was an anti-climax... but on the whole, it was okay though... waiting to watch charlie and the chocolate factory, stealth, and sky high...
btw, why pple still haven't do the three quiz yet??! aren't u scared that the curse will take effect? heehee... better do it soon...

UrrGh...

alamak, so long never blog... the stupid laptop hanged on me while i was typing my blog last week...
so have to type all over again...
last wed, went to karaoke with amelia, karen and their friends... i finally got to sing till my heart's content, we sang from 2pm till 8pm at night... i really enjoyed myself, except that i felt quite left out, cos they were all singing cantonese songs and i am the only one singing chinese... and then they were all speaking in canto, and i just sit there, pretending that i am listening to what they say... when i have no idea what they are talking abt... sigh...

after that, we went to this korean restaurant, and the food was horrible! it was also very expensive and after eating, i felt like throwing up... dunno why but it was just really bad...
and then by the time i reached epping, it was already quite late, but amelia was so nice, she stayed with me to wait for michelle to come pick me up... so we were both standing there in the cold, talking and waiting...

yesterday, work was shitty at the start... there was a big crowd lining up at the express lanes... so i was assigned to one of the express lanes, okay, and then this lady bought this purple-looking vegetable... and i dunno what's that, so i was searching quite frantically at the list for the code for that vege... and then i decided to ask this other cashier on my left what vegetable was it, she told me i dunno, in a very unfriendly tone, so okay, watever, i continued to search for the code, and then she turned to me and u noe what she said??!! u should be smart enough to noe what vegetable that is... i was like, what??!! what the hell? and then the cashier on my right told me what that vege was, it was a red cabbage... i was so pissed at the woman... ruined my day...

dIsNeY on iCe...

hello hello...
updates and more updates... last sat was nao's 21st bdae, and she treated us to go watch Disney On Ice... oh man, it was really cool and i enjoyed it very much, like the costumes they had, and the expertise of the skaters... watching them makes me wish that i can ice skate... the place was almost filled to full capacity and most of the pple there were little kids and their parents... so cute, they were like dressed in the princess costumes, haha...
oh and before that, we went to eat at this taiwan restaurant, where u can eat and read the comics and chinese magazines provided... i like the ambience better than the food though... the toilet was really cool, they had this automatic seat cover dispenser and soap dispenser, i was so impressed by the soap dispenser... hmm... i should have that next time in my home...

after the show, went to nao's house to eat cake and open prezzies... her house so nice... it's a penthouse and 2 levels... i really enjoyed myself, especially with the hula-hoop thing... 'wink wink' we should do it again sometime... :) thanks nao for the invitation...

after that, went to prisy's workmate another 21st bdae... at a bar... okay, the good thing was they provide a free flow of drinks... ordered red wine but halfway through, i gave it to prisy and drank sprite instead... well, let's just say we went back quite early... sorry prisy, knew that u wanted to stay there longer...

yesterday, went to paddy's to meet up with angie... so happy to see her again after so long... she told me that she's migrated again... to perth... she also never change after one year in new zealand... except maybe now she talk more than before... but she still very soft-spoken... that's what i told her too...we walked from paddy's all the way to town hall, and i had to go back early so we didn't get to spend much time together, i felt bad... cos she's going back on tues and dunno when will i see her again... didn't even give her anything...

TrEasUrEs...

birdie's been found! yep, a good samaritan, actually he lives just a few houses down from us, returned him back to us on wed... thank you! birdie was actually suffering from shock, i think, cos he didn't make any sounds and it is really unusual for him... maybe he needs time to readjust to his home again... we are all definitely spending more time with him now, as the saying goes, u dun noe what u have until they are not around... that goes for both pple and things and pets... so, treasure the things and the pple ard you, otherwise, it will be too late for regrets when they are no longer there...

these past few days very 'happening', especially events ard the world, the G8 summit, the IOC deciding that London will host the 2012 Olympics, and of course, the bomb blasts in London... still dunno who the culprits are... some pple just love to terrorize and harm the innocent... why... again, i have to take my own advice above and treasure the things and pple around me, cos i'll never noe what will happen the next minute...

btw, saw War of the worlds on tues... this was one of the movies by tom cruise that i like... it's really quite clever, the way the author wrote the story... abit scary also, but nonetheless, a good ending to a good movie... highly recommended!

WheRe'S biRdie?

today is a very sad day... cos our bird at home went missing this morning... dunno wat happened... when uncle brought him out into the backyard in the morning as usual, birdie suddenly disappeared and all of us still dunno wat happened to him... usually he would chirp and sqwuak nonstop but today, we didn't even hear a sound from him... michelle and me went ard to the neighbouring houses and ask them to let us into their backyards to look for him, but still to no avail... i am so sad... although sometimes , birdie can be very irritating, we all still love him, especially uncle... sigh... we suspect that he's eaten by the neighbour's cat already... our poor birdie...

yesterday, received an email from angie, saying that she's coming to sydney to visit for a few days... yay, the last time i saw her was last year, so maybe we can hang out in town when she's here...

heard abt the IOC meeting in singapore... whoa, alot of big names leh... also heard that beckham's in town also... he's still my fav football player of all time... although i dun get to watch football now... it will be good publicity for singapore... attract more tourists... can't wait to find out which country will win the bid to host the olympics...

LaZy tO thInK oF a tiTle...

i think this post will be quite boring cos half the time, no one will noe what i am talking abt... all i can write abt would be my cashier job at woolworths... well i have to say that business is finally starting to pick up as compared to last week, and i was busier too...

actually this wk's roster was supposed to be only on sat and sun, but i got asked to be 'information girl' on 3 days... the job of an information girl was to... walk ard the supermarket ten million times and give out the catalogues and help customers to find stuff... it was really B-O-R-I-N-G... i would rather do cashiering... after 2 weeks at the new store, got to noe some of the pple working there... although i wouldn't say we are at the stage of being frens... juz like those hi-bye workmates... haven't saw anything or anyone interesting at work yet...

that wed was my day off, so i went to hornsby to shop, actually wanted to get gloves for my hands, it's still in a pretty bad condition... in the end, i did something impulsive... i went to cut my hair... i actually wanted to keep my hair long, but i juz couldn't stand the sensation of it brushing my neck... and it's getting harder to wash my hair... so in the end... i got a haircut that looked suspiciously like the one i had when i was in kindergarten... sigh...

shit... next week i only working on mon, and got the whole week off... what the heck am i going to do?

LiKe beInG a caShIer...

thurs... went back to school to hand in the electives and tutorial group form...i am praying really hard and crossing both fingers... hoping that i not that "suai", get put into grp 2... otherwise, i am going to faint... got 2 days out of 4 with classes at 8am leh... that means i have to wake up at 630am... the good thing, i think, abt next semester is that fri no lessons, so that means we have one day off... also managed to play badminton with yochi, karen and amelia... after that, went to buy our course t-shirts... and we got a good bargain... the new ones cost $30 but we bought the old ones and they only cost me $5... saved me quite alot of money...

yesterday, went to the gym with prisy and after that, went to check out hornsby hospital where she will be doing her placement... the buildings looked really old man... and quite difficult to get to... but we went in and the interior was not as bad as i thought... maybe next time, i will also get posted there too...

i think, starting from now, i will be mostly blogging in the mornings, cos i will be working till late so will not be on msn that often too... the new woolworths store at thornleigh has opened... it's quite big but these few nights when i was working, not many pple, quite quiet though, cos i think they didn't advertise so pple dun noe that there's a new store there... and there wasn't many shops also... maybe it will take a few more days before business starts to pick up...

SiAn aH...

here i am blogging... i am so bored right now, and just thinking about the next 6 weeks ok hols' makes me feel so sian... not that i am complaining that the hols' are too long... but all my frens will be going on clinicals for the next 2 weeks except me... what am i going to do?? got posted to this paediatric camp in this farraway place instead in september... but i heard that it will be fun though... cos the kids in the camp will be doing activities like canoeing, rock-climbing, archery, etc...

went to karen's house on mon to watch the hongkong serial, Xin Hua Fang, the show is so long, we still haven't even reach the halfway of the show yet... played this scrabble-like game too as we gorge on KFC and chips and maltesers... once again... i declare myself to be anti-KFC... the taste and smell of it just turns me off... she also cooked lunch for us, which tasted quite good actually... thanks, karen...

yesterday, went to burwood to shop with amelia, and both of us bought quite alot of stuff... i bought a fleecy jacket, it's really soft, like u noe "mao mao", a black thermal, i think i should have gotten a white one instead, and a white blouse for work... hmmm... we passed by this shop called Despring, which also has 2 outlets in singapore too... and the clothes were really cheap and good quality too... wanted to buy quite a few stuff... but then i was already holding quite alot of stuff and spent like $50 already... so in the end, didn't buy anything there... maybe i should just go back there wif prisy before the sale ends...

and then after that, we went to watch Batman Begins... the first half hour was boring though, only gets interesting afterwards... i really think that the actor who acted as Batman looks like Tom Cruise... no wonder Katie Holmes is dating him... haha...
Star Wars Ep 3 was better though...

7 wkS oF hoLiDAyS AhEaD...

finally, i can blog again! after a wk of no blogging bcos of exams, i can blog all i want... exams as usual, suck, what other adjectives are there to describe it? was quite disappointed with myself, cos i didn't really study hard enough, i guess, that's why i noe that i totally screwed up in psychology and human occupations... the night before, still watching tv...

nothing much happened during the week of absence, except that prisy and me went to play netball with her workmates and i really enjoyed myself, long time no exercise that hard, the only thing was i had to pay $15 just to play... really expensive...hmm... maybe i should just stick to playing badminton...

now that exams are over, i have to start working to earn money, the cashiering job is good but tiring, today, was supposed to go to the new store at thornleigh, where i will be working, to work, when i arrived there, they asked me to go clean the shelves, the dustbins, clean this, clean that, and i was thinking, no way i want to do this till 5pm... i thought maybe they would just ask me to go stack the items on the shelves... so i cleaned for 3 hours, and then i told them that i am not feeling well and i went home... pple may think that i am stupid or too pampered, pple giving u money to clean, ehy dun want... well, watever... i dun mind doing stacking, but not cleaning...

was very happy to hear from melissa, like a million years never hear from her already... and the weird thing was that, just yesterday morning, i was thinking abt her, and i wanted to maybe send her an email... and then came back and saw her email... saw that she maybe want to come here and study too... really hope she can come, then i will have more company...

today, saw the email from nyp about the WFOT congress here in sydney, then went to check the website, and i almost fainted, the registration fees for students, was like $400 over! how to attend??!!! why so expensive! i really wanted to go, cos it's right here in sydney, and not in other faraway country... anybody from nyp thinking of coming to attend the congress???!!!

WhAt tHe...

fri... went to the city again... guess what we did again? yep, karaoke! i think the place is like... u either choose english and jap/korean or u choose eng and chinese songs only... whenever i choose a chinese song to sing, the machine kept skipping my songs, and i am like wat the hell???
and moreover, the machine took such a long time to change songs... hmmph...

that first day at work at cherrybrook was good, the staff was quite friendly and we got to have our first hands-on experience... quite nervous at first cos i didn't noe how to do payment by cheque and credit card... and the one incident that stood out was, someone bought this vegetable that looked to me like a big lettuce, so okay, i was searching really hard for the code for lettuce, and our trainer came over and told me that the vegetable was called wombok... wat the heck is that? never even heard of it before...

now, i am counting down to the exams, and i am so stressed over my oTTP assignment, i really dunno how to do! and the weightage for this is very high, 75% of the total mark... who can help me?

Wednesday, June 08, 2005

CouNtinG doWn...

sun... stayed at home all day, wanted to complete at least one section of the OTTP assignment, in the end, ended up doing nothing constructive... why??? i am the queen of procrastination!
went to this shoe shop at chatswood, saw this black leather shoe the other time with prisy and thought that i would explore my options first then come back and buy... who noes... when i reached there, it was closed... both sat and sun... oh man... have to start work at woolies already and i dun have a black shoe to wear...

mon... back to school, it's already wk13... it's cliched, i noe, but... time passes so fast... like in 2 weeks' time, exams are here and after that, it will be semester 2... still remember when i left singapore to come here... sigh...
at night, had to go to top ryde for cashier training... it was similar to the one that i went for fairprice... except that... it's a good news to me... they told us that if we give customers the wrong change, we DUN have to pay the difference out of our own pocket! can u imagine my relief when i heard that??!... cos when i worked in fairprice, i already had to give $20 out cos i think i gave too much change back to the customer... imagine how stressed i felt when at the end of the shift, we had to tally our cash with the computer's...

Celebrating Karen and Mel's bdaes at the korean restaurant in Strathfield...

CecI...

btw, if anyone's wondering, that's the name of the korean cafe that we went to...
fri... the long-awaited day has arrived... bcos we are all going to the korean restaurant at strathfield to celebrate karen and mel's bdaes... yum yum... i was really glad that all of us could make it... not very easy cos all of them had their own stuff to do... and we also bought a small tiramisu log cake for them... took a few pics... hope that i can download the program and post it on my blog... Happy Birthday girls!

dunno wat happen to my hand... suddenly got red spots on it and bleed for no reason... and it's really painful sometimes... already tried to put cream... i thought it was too dry at first, but i dun think so... oh man... dun want to go see a doctor, cos it's so expensive... how...it looks really bad... i think my hand's swollen...

sat... went to top ryde woolies for my induction as a cashier...8-4pm... the whole time juz sitting there watching the dvd and answering questions on safety, how not to contaminate the food, good customer service, history of woolies, etc...
last time worked at fairprice also got something like that... whoa... equally boring... tears want to come out already... and then next mon, wed and thurs start training already... stupid pple, put me at cherrybrook, already told them i have no transport... i have to go to hornsby!

DecIsIons, DeCisiOnS...

tues... got back my video interview that I did with prisy... did alright, even though she didn't use a real life experience, which we were supposed to... the thing was, Paul didn't really give us feedback on how we can improve in future, he just wrote what we did well... how do we noe what went wrong? still thinking of whether i should go ask him...
the whole tues night was spent on studying for the viva... sigh... i think i can manage on the practical part but a little shaky on the shaky part... especially the section on measurements for chairs and wheelchairs...

wed... viva... got 3 questions... i got the rolling from supine to a side-lying position, verbal instructions only, the transfer from bed to wheelchair, also verbal instructions only... and the blind one... so "heng" that i didn't get the measurements one... karen got it though, unfortunately... she was very upset about it... cos she also dun noe how to do... i think i did okay, except for the first task where i was nervous and turned my client onto her unaffected side.... it was supposed to be her affected side... i was really confused... cos the manual said that we have to turn the client on their unaffected sides... huh...

prisy asked me whether i want to go back at the end of the year with her... i really want to go back but i have alot to consider... like whether i can afford to and whether pong wants to come over during her long holiday... i miss home... all i can think of are things that i will do and eat if i go back home... hopefully, i can go back...

SyDneY syMpHonY...

sun... very excited cos guess what? we are going to the sydney opera house to listen to a symphony! haha... normally, the tickets are really expensive just to watch a symphony there rite... but michelle found a charity symphony that day which costs only $15, which was relatively cheaper as compared to the other performances...

so... me and prisy got to wear nicer-looking clothes that day... and we are on our way to the sydney opera house... it lasted only for an hour and a half... i really enjoyed it... especially the part where the soprano singers started to sing... the sad truth was... i really am not the 'artistically- inclined' sort of person... cos i dozed off about halfway thru the symphony... not that it was boring or anything... just that the piece went on and on and on... all in all, it was really nice, i got to see what the inside of the concert hall looked like and i got to visit my fav toilet again! i think it was full house that night btw... alot of Japanese though, cos it was a collaboration between Australia and Japanese musicians...

and then after that, michelle brought to this restaurant called Pancakes on the rocks... whoa... long queue... i was told that it is quite a popular place among youngsters... i ordered this vanilla and choc surprise and it was really sweet... topped with ice-cream and choc syrup... it was really yummy... but it's those kind of food that the more u eat, the more 'xian' u become...hmm... overall, it was a nice sunday night out...

GoIng pOdsIe...

sat... went to promote pods again at coles castle towers... this time, i was the one doing the walking around promoting... it's not easy man... the samples were finished very quickly, even before our shift ended, and i realised that people tend to buy when there were samples to try, if not, they were less likely to buy...

after that, prisy and i went to shop at hornsby... i had to get a white blouse and black shoes for the cashier job... managed to find a white blouse but still did not get a black shoe... saw one but it was really expensive... the shoes here are really expensive leh... passed this pet shop and the puppies in there were all so cute! especially the golden retrievers... hmmm... it is my dream to own dogs since i was young... i have already thought of the number of dogs and the breed that i want... i love dogs! haha...

ThE weEK JuZ flEw bY...

wed... that day when we went to the main campus for medical checkup, karen and amelia brought me to this place where they have steaks for $5... have to say a big thank you to them cos they treated me... the food was not that great though... i ate chicken breast and chips...

thurs... was really excited on that day... cos i was going to promote pods biscuits with angela... went to school in the morning to practise for the viva and then after that, both of us went to castle towers coles supermarket to promote pods... i think we did quite good... sold at least 20 boxes of pods... haha... promoting pods is a good thing, cos u get to keep some for urself...
angela ended up staying over at our house for the night...

fri... went to school for sociology... didn't go for the tues lesson so had to attend the one on fri... after that, stayed in the library to do a little research for my OTTP assignment... i feel that the information is very unfocused, like everything is all over the place, and i dunno where to start... help!

WOrLd CuP FeVEr...

World Cup 2022, held in Qatar this time around, has been full of shocks and surprises... the underdogs are definitely Morroco and hopefully ...
