QuAraNtineD...

Day 8 of clinicals...
our ward now has become quarantined... they were not accepting any new patients and nobody were allowed into the ward except absolutely necessary, all the doctors and nurses were all wearing the blue gowns, gloves and masks... we even had to sterilize our hands before going into the ward...
so we had to go up to the other ward to see if the other OTs had other patients which we could see... did another shower assessment with this elderly lady... she was the very confused one which we interviewed the day before... when we went to see her this morning... she told us that she finally realised that she was in hospital... despite us telling her many times... anyway, she really needed help showering... and she was splashing water all over the place, nearly wetting us both in the process... my supervisor quickly went to get the disposable aprons for us to wear... after doing all these showers... i dun noe if i can do it myself when the time comes... and sometimes it can be quite yucky... like if the patients have incontinence pads on and u have to remove them... or if they can't wash or dry themselves properly, u have to help them, sometimes, the bottom areas... oh man... oh well, i will deal with it when the time comes... hopefully not too soon...

after that, we had to go attend a case conference at the stroke unit... apparently it's still on despite the quarantine... it was really interesting though... we had the doctors, the PT, OT (my supervisor), SP, social worker, the head nurse and the head neurologist of the stroke unit present... each doctor would then present their cases on each patient, and the allied health would also provide their inputs... and they would also put up each patient's CT scans and discuss about it... I have absolutely no idea what they were talking about most of time, only knowing that they were scans of the brain... haha... my supervisor later told me that sometimes we were also expected to know how to interpret the scans... alamak...

after that, nothing exciting, cos we could not go into the ward, and there were no other patients in other wards that we could see... so i was once again stuck in the student's room reading... and then apparently we had another meeting... with the other OTs working in the acute setting... basically they were discussing house-keeping stuff and we had to read a journal article and talk about the article... and apparently my supervisor will no longer be working in the stroke unit after next week, she will be going to outpatients... anyway, they started exchanging stories about their patients... some were quite amusing too... haha...

World Cup 2022, held in Qatar this time around, has been full of shocks and surprises... the underdogs are definitely Morroco and hopefully ...
