LiKe beInG a caShIer...

thurs... went back to school to hand in the electives and tutorial group form...i am praying really hard and crossing both fingers... hoping that i not that "suai", get put into grp 2... otherwise, i am going to faint... got 2 days out of 4 with classes at 8am leh... that means i have to wake up at 630am... the good thing, i think, abt next semester is that fri no lessons, so that means we have one day off... also managed to play badminton with yochi, karen and amelia... after that, went to buy our course t-shirts... and we got a good bargain... the new ones cost $30 but we bought the old ones and they only cost me $5... saved me quite alot of money...

yesterday, went to the gym with prisy and after that, went to check out hornsby hospital where she will be doing her placement... the buildings looked really old man... and quite difficult to get to... but we went in and the interior was not as bad as i thought... maybe next time, i will also get posted there too...

i think, starting from now, i will be mostly blogging in the mornings, cos i will be working till late so will not be on msn that often too... the new woolworths store at thornleigh has opened... it's quite big but these few nights when i was working, not many pple, quite quiet though, cos i think they didn't advertise so pple dun noe that there's a new store there... and there wasn't many shops also... maybe it will take a few more days before business starts to pick up...

SiAn aH...

here i am blogging... i am so bored right now, and just thinking about the next 6 weeks ok hols' makes me feel so sian... not that i am complaining that the hols' are too long... but all my frens will be going on clinicals for the next 2 weeks except me... what am i going to do?? got posted to this paediatric camp in this farraway place instead in september... but i heard that it will be fun though... cos the kids in the camp will be doing activities like canoeing, rock-climbing, archery, etc...

went to karen's house on mon to watch the hongkong serial, Xin Hua Fang, the show is so long, we still haven't even reach the halfway of the show yet... played this scrabble-like game too as we gorge on KFC and chips and maltesers... once again... i declare myself to be anti-KFC... the taste and smell of it just turns me off... she also cooked lunch for us, which tasted quite good actually... thanks, karen...

yesterday, went to burwood to shop with amelia, and both of us bought quite alot of stuff... i bought a fleecy jacket, it's really soft, like u noe "mao mao", a black thermal, i think i should have gotten a white one instead, and a white blouse for work... hmmm... we passed by this shop called Despring, which also has 2 outlets in singapore too... and the clothes were really cheap and good quality too... wanted to buy quite a few stuff... but then i was already holding quite alot of stuff and spent like $50 already... so in the end, didn't buy anything there... maybe i should just go back there wif prisy before the sale ends...

and then after that, we went to watch Batman Begins... the first half hour was boring though, only gets interesting afterwards... i really think that the actor who acted as Batman looks like Tom Cruise... no wonder Katie Holmes is dating him... haha...
Star Wars Ep 3 was better though...

7 wkS oF hoLiDAyS AhEaD...

finally, i can blog again! after a wk of no blogging bcos of exams, i can blog all i want... exams as usual, suck, what other adjectives are there to describe it? was quite disappointed with myself, cos i didn't really study hard enough, i guess, that's why i noe that i totally screwed up in psychology and human occupations... the night before, still watching tv...

nothing much happened during the week of absence, except that prisy and me went to play netball with her workmates and i really enjoyed myself, long time no exercise that hard, the only thing was i had to pay $15 just to play... really expensive...hmm... maybe i should just stick to playing badminton...

now that exams are over, i have to start working to earn money, the cashiering job is good but tiring, today, was supposed to go to the new store at thornleigh, where i will be working, to work, when i arrived there, they asked me to go clean the shelves, the dustbins, clean this, clean that, and i was thinking, no way i want to do this till 5pm... i thought maybe they would just ask me to go stack the items on the shelves... so i cleaned for 3 hours, and then i told them that i am not feeling well and i went home... pple may think that i am stupid or too pampered, pple giving u money to clean, ehy dun want... well, watever... i dun mind doing stacking, but not cleaning...

was very happy to hear from melissa, like a million years never hear from her already... and the weird thing was that, just yesterday morning, i was thinking abt her, and i wanted to maybe send her an email... and then came back and saw her email... saw that she maybe want to come here and study too... really hope she can come, then i will have more company...

today, saw the email from nyp about the WFOT congress here in sydney, then went to check the website, and i almost fainted, the registration fees for students, was like $400 over! how to attend??!!! why so expensive! i really wanted to go, cos it's right here in sydney, and not in other faraway country... anybody from nyp thinking of coming to attend the congress???!!!

WhAt tHe...

fri... went to the city again... guess what we did again? yep, karaoke! i think the place is like... u either choose english and jap/korean or u choose eng and chinese songs only... whenever i choose a chinese song to sing, the machine kept skipping my songs, and i am like wat the hell???
and moreover, the machine took such a long time to change songs... hmmph...

that first day at work at cherrybrook was good, the staff was quite friendly and we got to have our first hands-on experience... quite nervous at first cos i didn't noe how to do payment by cheque and credit card... and the one incident that stood out was, someone bought this vegetable that looked to me like a big lettuce, so okay, i was searching really hard for the code for lettuce, and our trainer came over and told me that the vegetable was called wombok... wat the heck is that? never even heard of it before...

now, i am counting down to the exams, and i am so stressed over my oTTP assignment, i really dunno how to do! and the weightage for this is very high, 75% of the total mark... who can help me?

CouNtinG doWn...

sun... stayed at home all day, wanted to complete at least one section of the OTTP assignment, in the end, ended up doing nothing constructive... why??? i am the queen of procrastination!
went to this shoe shop at chatswood, saw this black leather shoe the other time with prisy and thought that i would explore my options first then come back and buy... who noes... when i reached there, it was closed... both sat and sun... oh man... have to start work at woolies already and i dun have a black shoe to wear...

mon... back to school, it's already wk13... it's cliched, i noe, but... time passes so fast... like in 2 weeks' time, exams are here and after that, it will be semester 2... still remember when i left singapore to come here... sigh...
at night, had to go to top ryde for cashier training... it was similar to the one that i went for fairprice... except that... it's a good news to me... they told us that if we give customers the wrong change, we DUN have to pay the difference out of our own pocket! can u imagine my relief when i heard that??!... cos when i worked in fairprice, i already had to give $20 out cos i think i gave too much change back to the customer... imagine how stressed i felt when at the end of the shift, we had to tally our cash with the computer's...

Celebrating Karen and Mel's bdaes at the korean restaurant in Strathfield...

CecI...

btw, if anyone's wondering, that's the name of the korean cafe that we went to...
fri... the long-awaited day has arrived... bcos we are all going to the korean restaurant at strathfield to celebrate karen and mel's bdaes... yum yum... i was really glad that all of us could make it... not very easy cos all of them had their own stuff to do... and we also bought a small tiramisu log cake for them... took a few pics... hope that i can download the program and post it on my blog... Happy Birthday girls!

dunno wat happen to my hand... suddenly got red spots on it and bleed for no reason... and it's really painful sometimes... already tried to put cream... i thought it was too dry at first, but i dun think so... oh man... dun want to go see a doctor, cos it's so expensive... how...it looks really bad... i think my hand's swollen...

sat... went to top ryde woolies for my induction as a cashier...8-4pm... the whole time juz sitting there watching the dvd and answering questions on safety, how not to contaminate the food, good customer service, history of woolies, etc...
last time worked at fairprice also got something like that... whoa... equally boring... tears want to come out already... and then next mon, wed and thurs start training already... stupid pple, put me at cherrybrook, already told them i have no transport... i have to go to hornsby!

DecIsIons, DeCisiOnS...

tues... got back my video interview that I did with prisy... did alright, even though she didn't use a real life experience, which we were supposed to... the thing was, Paul didn't really give us feedback on how we can improve in future, he just wrote what we did well... how do we noe what went wrong? still thinking of whether i should go ask him...
the whole tues night was spent on studying for the viva... sigh... i think i can manage on the practical part but a little shaky on the shaky part... especially the section on measurements for chairs and wheelchairs...

wed... viva... got 3 questions... i got the rolling from supine to a side-lying position, verbal instructions only, the transfer from bed to wheelchair, also verbal instructions only... and the blind one... so "heng" that i didn't get the measurements one... karen got it though, unfortunately... she was very upset about it... cos she also dun noe how to do... i think i did okay, except for the first task where i was nervous and turned my client onto her unaffected side.... it was supposed to be her affected side... i was really confused... cos the manual said that we have to turn the client on their unaffected sides... huh...

prisy asked me whether i want to go back at the end of the year with her... i really want to go back but i have alot to consider... like whether i can afford to and whether pong wants to come over during her long holiday... i miss home... all i can think of are things that i will do and eat if i go back home... hopefully, i can go back...

SyDneY syMpHonY...

sun... very excited cos guess what? we are going to the sydney opera house to listen to a symphony! haha... normally, the tickets are really expensive just to watch a symphony there rite... but michelle found a charity symphony that day which costs only $15, which was relatively cheaper as compared to the other performances...

so... me and prisy got to wear nicer-looking clothes that day... and we are on our way to the sydney opera house... it lasted only for an hour and a half... i really enjoyed it... especially the part where the soprano singers started to sing... the sad truth was... i really am not the 'artistically- inclined' sort of person... cos i dozed off about halfway thru the symphony... not that it was boring or anything... just that the piece went on and on and on... all in all, it was really nice, i got to see what the inside of the concert hall looked like and i got to visit my fav toilet again! i think it was full house that night btw... alot of Japanese though, cos it was a collaboration between Australia and Japanese musicians...

and then after that, michelle brought to this restaurant called Pancakes on the rocks... whoa... long queue... i was told that it is quite a popular place among youngsters... i ordered this vanilla and choc surprise and it was really sweet... topped with ice-cream and choc syrup... it was really yummy... but it's those kind of food that the more u eat, the more 'xian' u become...hmm... overall, it was a nice sunday night out...

WOrLd CuP FeVEr...

World Cup 2022, held in Qatar this time around, has been full of shocks and surprises... the underdogs are definitely Morroco and hopefully ...
